Prof. Terry Meyer delivered an invited talk entitled “Development of Short-Pulse Laser Diagnostics for High-Speed Flows: Current Applications and Future Prospects” to lead off a Short Pulsed Lasers Discussion Group at AIAA Scitech 2020 Forum.
The talk covered advances in spectroscopy using ultrashort-pulse lasers, including picosecond coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (ps CARS), and femtosecond two-photon laser-induced fluorescence (fs TP-LIF), femtosecond laser electronic excitation tagging (FLEET), and fs/ps CARS. The figure shows the set-up for MHz-rate fs/ps CARS demonstrated for the first time in a collaboration between Purdue University and Spectral Energies, LLC.
