Arafat successfully defended his doctoral dissertation entitled "Nonlinear Ultrafast-Laser Spectroscopy of Gas-Phase Species and Temperature in High-Pressure Reacting Flows," and has accepted a tenure-track faculty position at his home institution of BUET in Bangladesh. Congrats Arafat!
Arafat joined Purdue University in 2015 and published 7 peer-reviewed journal articles on laser spectroscopic techniques utilizing ultrafast and burst-mode lasers with Prof. Terry Meyer, as well as several other journal articles with co-advisor Prof. Mikhail Slipchenko and collaborator Prof. Alexey Shashurin. We are very sad to see him go, but have every expectation of collaborating with him in the future and wish him luck as he builds a new research program at BUET.
